On Memorial Day Weekend, May 26 - 28, 2006, come celebrate the Happy Wiener Fest on the Mother Road in Atlanta!  If you're wondering about the Festival's strange name, take a look at the pictures below.
 

	This wiener toting statue is called Tall Paul by his neighbors, and is one of the original Paul Bunyan (Muffler Man) Statues.  It is located on Race Street in Atlanta, IL, but was previously located in Cicero, IL.
One of the first things that people notice about Atlanta is their unusual watertower.  This tower is so happy to be here, that it's smiling on the town!

Mark your calendars and come to the following events:

    -   Wiener eating contest on Friday evening
    -   Cruise-in all day Saturday
    -   Musical entertainment
        -   Professor John & the Chicago Swamp Band on Friday Evening
        -   Elvis Himselvis (aka Rick Dunham) on Saturday evening
    -   Wine tent on Saturday
    -   Chuck Wagon Cook-off on Saturday
    -   Blackhawk helicopter fly-in on Sunday
    -   Community Church Service Sunday evening
    -   Community Meals at the firehouse
        -   Friday evening meal provided by the Atlanta Fire Department
        -   Sunday evening meal provided by Waynesville Christian Church Youth
    -   Carnival
    -   Many vendors - food and misc.

On Saturday, the City of Atlanta and the Route 66 Heritage Project will be awarding the Route 66 Preservation Award to the Stephens Family (who has loaned the Bunyan Statue to Atlanta).  The presentation will be at 10:30 AM at the Bunyan Statue.  Don't miss it!
